This brilliantly innovative book offers an engaging new way for children to discover and learn letter sounds and first words. By running their finger along large, grooved letters, children can explore the shape of each letter. Lift-the-flaps on every sturdy page further reinforce easy learning.

Lexile: AD30

In this pleasing alphabet book/writing lesson, capital letters are cut into sky-blue pages and marked with arrows, allowing readers to trace them with their fingers. Each letter stands for a different animal or object, which appear on flaps, with additional items hidden beneath. Paired with Birkett's bright illustrations, the interactive components ought to give beginning writers a head start on their ABCs. Also available: 1 2 3: Count With Me.

A bit troubling that this author wants to change the phonology system of English. There is not one teacher here at Tiger Tales! Orange is NOT an "o" word! It is the grapheme "or". It does NOT make an "o" sound. And then he uses "sh" for an "s" sound. Very annoying to a reading specialist teaching preschoolers. Now I'll go to Amazon:)

My son received this & 1 2 3 Count w/ Me for his birthday a month ago. He absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVES these books. They are excellent!
